Our Story
Founded in 2015, Bonsai Works began as a miner-led movement from the heart of Tanzania's artisanal mining communities in Mpanda, Chunya, and Tabora, with a vision to empower local miners and unlock the potential of copper, nickel, tin, and gold.
Through 2017-2022, we built expertise trading and exporting while establishing partnerships with the Geological Survey of Tanzania and the Tanzania Mineral Commission, expanding to export minerals to China and South Africa.
Our breakthrough came in 2019-2022 as quality experts for Macroteq Ltd, helping them achieve Tanzania's Best Exporter award for copper exports to China, followed by a $3M+ technical support agreement with Kalahary Battery Metals in 2023-2024.
Today, we're building a one-stop centre for artisanal miners, connecting communities with global investors and markets through technical consultations, investment opportunities, direct trading, and processing expertise. Our journey—from digging in mines to leading multimillion-dollar deals—drives our mission to transform lives across Tanzania.
